One Week Left: The Future of Grimsby Is in Our Hands

With just one week remaining before Election Day, I’ve been reflecting on why I decided to run for Ward 2 Councillor.
I live here, my family is here, and I care about what Grimsby will look like for the next generation. Our town has something special: a beautiful lakefront, productive farmland, the escarpment, and a community that still values its small-town character.
But we also face real challenges. Property taxes are putting pressure on families and seniors. Growth needs to be managed responsibly, and every municipal dollar must be spent wisely.
During my career in project management, I learned that successful projects require sound budgets, accountability, teamwork, and a clear understanding of priorities. Those same principles belong at Town Hall.
I’m not promising that every problem can be solved overnight. I am promising to ask questions, look carefully at the numbers, listen to residents, and work toward practical solutions.
Ward 2 is diverse, stretching from our rural communities above the escarpment to our urban neighbourhoods below it. Both deserve representation, and both deserve a voice in decisions that affect their future.
Over the coming week, I encourage everyone to learn about the candidates, consider their priorities, and make a plan to vote. Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to talk with me during this campaign. Your questions and ideas have reinforced why local representation matters.
I’m asking for the opportunity to work for you and for the future of Grimsby.
David Scott - Candidate for Ward 2 Councillor
